This beautiful young African American bridesmaid looks ready to walk down the isle. She shows that it is possible to wear a short sedu hairstyle even with naturally curly hair. Short and simple hairstyles are perfect for bridesmaids. This look would be great for an afternoon, outdoor, spring or summer wedding.

To get this simple hairstyle for yourself, start with a straightening balm and use a medium round brush to blow-dry hair. Take hair in sections and blow-dry in a downward motion. Lightly spray hair with hairspray and heat up your tourmaline flat iron. Divide hair into sections and working the underneath layers first run the flat iron down the sections starting from the roots and ending at the ends. Make sure not to take too large of a section as you work with the flat iron. Always use the flat iron on completely dry hair. Tourmaline flat irons give off ions that make hair look especially healthy and shiny.

This is a nice simple hairstyle for bridesmaids. Bridesmaids should look lovely but should not overshadow the bride.

Diet is very important for hair health. What you eat shows up in your hair. A diet that is full of cupcakes and soda pop can have a very negative affect on hair. A diet that is full of junk food and deficient in healthy foods that provide much needed important nutrients can result in hair that has lost its luster and shine or worse: hair loss. On the other hand, eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, getting sufficient good quality protein, and enough essential fatty acids will add up to a basket full of benefits for your hair.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are full of important antioxidants and important vitamins like vitamin B and C. Eating these importants foods on a daily basis will give your body the nutritional boost it needs to be able to grow healthy hair.

Free radicals which are produced by the body on a daily basis can attack hair follicles and damage them. Damaged hair follicles have a difficult time growing healthy hair. Antioxidants fight the free radicals that can damage hair follicles. Free radicals age the body on a daily basis.

Good quality protein is important for hair growth as hair is made up of protein. Good quality protein sources include eggs, fish, lean meat, and cooked dry beans or peas. Four to nine ounces of protein per day is plenty or most people. A protein deficiency can cause hair to become thin, dry, and dull.

Essential fatty acids are found in cold pressed oils such as flax seed oil. These provide shine, fight inflammation, and protect cell membranes from damage.

Here is a list of foods that are healthy for hair:

  • cold water fish like salmon and tuna
  • eggs
  • whole wheat and wheat bran
  • kale, spinach, and other green leafy vegies
  • brown rice
  • cantalope
  • blueberries
  • fruits especially citrus
  • lentils
  • molasses

Eat healthy and be healthy!

Now here is some 80's style. This short hairstyle is actually a bi-level look that was so 1980's. Notice how her hair is cut above the ears on the sides and it is longer in the back. One side is larger than the other as well. I guess bi-level hairstyles were not only for men, women had them too.

The 1980's were a time for dress for success. The "office attire" was big and women were promted to look professional to gain recognition at work. Sweaters with full sleeves and dress shirts worn underneath were considered stylish. Black pants were a staple in every woman's wardrobe.

The 80's fashions were all over the board along with hairstyles. There were the 80's hair-bands like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and many more. Rockers wore long poodle dos, punk rockers opted for crazy hair, and business professional's chose hairstyles like Princess Di.

The 80's were prosporous times and that was reflected in the hairstyles of that time as generally bigger was better. Even if you did not have enough hair to wear big hair, you found a way.

Here is another picture of a classic 80's bi-level hairstyle. Gotta dig the tee shirt tied into a knot and the colorful records splashed all over it.

Now here is an example of horrible 80's hairstyles.

Motorola's 8th Anniversary Party MOTO8 – Arrivals

Paris Hilton seems to be constantly dashing from one event to another and she certainly has plenty of hairstyles in her wardrobe for each one. In this picture of her she is wearing her hair in a long sedu hairstyle with her hair pulled back in a low ponytail. Her long ponytail looks elegant gracing her bare shoulders. She is often seen wearing headbands whether it be a wide headband with an updo or as seen here with a narrow headband placed high on the crown of her head. Hair accessories such as headbands are hot right now so why not try one for yourself at your next formal event or school dance like prom.

Paris is extremely fashion conscious and she certainly does not seem bashful when it comes to trying out the unexpected. Her royal blue dress matches her bright blue eyes and her eye-makeup is anything but subtle. She has chosen a bright red handbag and patton leather is all the rage right now. Rather than choosing a handbag to match the color of her dress, she chose one at the opposite side of the color wheel for that wow factor. This look is a head-turner. So, if you are daring enough, why not give this Paris Hilton style a whirl?

To get her hairstyle for yourself, try these tips. Start with a straightening balm if your hair is not naturally straight. Using a large round brush, blow-dry hair in a downward motion. Pull hair up at the roots and focus heat there for a little added lift then finish with a blast of cold air to set the style. If needed, run a flat iron over dry hair and this will add addtional shine. A tourmaline flat iron is great for the release of ions to contribute to extra shine and healthy looking hair. Backcomb the hair on the back of the head and then smooth over the top layer with a brush. Part the front of the hair and pull hair back to secure in a ponytail low on the back of the head. Top off with a headband placed high on the crown of the head to match your dress. Finish with a touch of hairspray.

When choosing a headband consider the color of your hair. Do you want a great deal of contrast or a more subtle blended look? There are wide and narrow headbands as well as some with jewels or sparkles. Some headbands are stretchy and some are firm. Some go around the head in a complete circle and some come in a half circle. The stretchy ones seem to be bit more comfortable and may stay on better as well.

It is always a good idea to have a trial run with your hairstyle well before your big event. Who wants to find out that a hairstyle is a bomb on the night of their prom?

If you have medium length to long hair and the thought of wearing your hair in an updo for your wedding day just does nothing for you, then you may want to check out this picture of a happy bride and groom. This wedding day hairstyle looks absolutely smashing on her. It is a perfect young look that would look great no matter what your age is. She shows that you don't have to wear a veil or headpiece to look great.

The bride has used a flower hair accessory to hold her bangs away from her face which allows her eyes and smile to be center stage. Even though she is wearing her long hair down, it is elegant enough for a daytime spring or summer wedding.

Her strapless dress and choker are perfect with her hairstyle. They are simple and not overpowering so as not to take away from the petite bride.

Her very feminine wavy hairstyle is reminiscent of days gone by. It is inspired by the vintage hairstyles of the 1940's when women like Rita Hayworth set the standard for feminine with her finger waves and side parted hair.

To get a similar look for yourself, start with a curl enhancing shampoo and conditioner. This will help enhance your waves. Use a little styling cream prior to blow-drying hair. Blow-dry hair in sections using a large round brush and pulling up at the roots to give a little lift. Separate hair into sections and starting with the underneath layers, take a small section of hair and rock a flat iron back and fourth while continuing to move the iron down the hair shaft to the ends. It is a good idea to practice this with the flat iron off until you get the hang of it. The best flat irons to use for this are ones that have rounded ends and are narrow like the T3 tourmaline flat iron. Tourmaline gives off ions that seal the cuticle and give hair a healthy and shiny look.

By all means practice your wedding day hairstyles well in advance of the wedding. If you are planning to have your hairstylist style your hair for the big day, plan a trial run before the wedding.

Here is another example of cascading waves on a medium length wedding hairstyle. She is wearing her hair down in the back with the front and sides pulled back. She has used a hair accessory to accent her look and she is wearing a viel. She has wisps of hair framing her face and they are nicely done.
