Mariah Carey is looking rather retro here in this blue button up shirt that she has tied up above her waist, a multi colored short jean skirt, and long, big spiral curls. Her locks are medium brown with hints of golden highlights that add warmth. She has a side part with hair styled smooth down to about chin length where they transition to loose curls. She is sporting some designer sunglasses that help her look rather chic. This picture of Mariah was taken at the Celebrity Departures from MTV's TRL on July 22, 2008 at MTV Studios.

Mariah Carey with Long and Loose Curls

Long and loose curls with separation and definition are the look of the season as we see here in the picture of Mariah Carey. She has nice thick naturally curly hair that needs to be relaxed before it can be styled into this soft look. A flat iron could be used to straighten the locks and add shine followed by the use of a large barrel curling iron to get the big loose look. One would need to be extra careful with the use of all the heat as it has the potential to be very damaging if not used carefully. There are products on the market and are designed to help protect the strands in these cases.
