Long and loose curls with separation and definition are the look of the season as we see here in the picture of Mariah Carey. She has nice thick naturally curly hair that needs to be relaxed before it can be styled into this soft look. A flat iron could be used to straighten the locks and add shine followed by the use of a large barrel curling iron to get the big loose look. One would need to be extra careful with the use of all the heat as it has the potential to be very damaging if not used carefully.
