It's time to think about back to school. While you are getting everything ready, don't forget about your best accessory: your hair. Hayden Panettiere is an important icon for today's teenagers and young adults. She has a starring role on the popular television show, Heroes, which is due to air it's fall season premiere on Monday September 24th, 2007. We will be waiting to see what new hairstyles she will have for us.

In this picture of her that was taken at an event to celebrate Rhianna's new album "Good Girl," Hayden sports a little black dress with a matching thin and formal looking headband and big spiral curls. The 60's bouffant-like hairdo sure has a retro flaire that goes well with the mini dress.

Mariah Carey with Long and Loose Curls

Long and loose curls with separation and definition are the look of the season as we see here in the picture of Mariah Carey. She has nice thick naturally curly hair that needs to be relaxed before it can be styled into this soft look. A flat iron could be used to straighten the locks and add shine followed by the use of a large barrel curling iron to get the big loose look. One would need to be extra careful with the use of all the heat as it has the potential to be very damaging if not used carefully. There are products on the market and are designed to help protect the strands in these cases.

Mariah is a singer and songwriter. She is also a record producer and actress, but we love to watch her beautiful hairstyles.

Partial Updo for Fine Hair

Here is a style that is a little different for fine and thin hair. It is hard to come with new ideas if you are one who does not have an abundance of hair. Fohawks are becoming increasing popular among young women. All we have to do is look at the celebrities of our time to see this trendy hairstyle picking up steam. Here we have a picture of Pink sporting this cropped, short hairdo. Her hair is platinum blonde and cut above the ears. The sides are combed forward while the top is pushed upward in the shape of a flame. Waxes and gels with strong hold work well for this look.

60s Styling with Headband Accessory

If you are looking for a cute way to wear your hair with a trendy headband, then check out this cute style. This young woman has curly hair but has styled it into a straightened 60s hairdo with the use of hair products and a flat iron. First she uses a straightening balm and then uses a large round brush when blow-drying. She runs over the strands with a flat iron one small section at at time. The top crown of her head is back combed to add some height and then the outer layer is smoothed over for a clean look. Some hair spray is added at the end. A wide polka-doted headband is placed for a fabulous retro statement. This hair accessory has an elasticized bottom to allow it to stay in place better.
