What a super cute short and sassy boy cut.

Jennifer Lawrence

The variations of color really brings depth to this style. She has golden blonde, light brown, and few chunks of medium brown. All the strands are brushed forward and then swooped to one side over the forehead. Lots of layers helps the pieces fall into place and make finger combing easy.

This second shot shows the side of her style better. The length is above the ear.

Anna is sporting a short bob that is perfect for someone with straight fine hair.

Anna Gunn

Her hair is parted on the side and her bangs are the same length as the rest of her style which is about ear level. Her color is blonde with highlights and lowlights. Strong hold hairspray holds everything in place and keeps the bangs from falling forward. It can be difficult for women with thin hair to find a good style and this one is certainly worth consideration. She has a long and fairly narrow face so the length of her style brings the eye out horizontally while one looks at her.

Her skin is very fair and her eyes are blue. She is wearing a strapless dress and is rather thin with prominent collar bones. Her overall color scheme is monochrome which helps her look taller.

The event here is the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards. Anna is best known for her role as Skyler White on Breaking Bad. There is much speculation about her dramatic weight loss and some are saying that is could be possibly Lupus.

The Television Academy’s 64th Primetime Emmy Awards Performers Nominee Reception

This second photo is from the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Performers Nominee Reception and shows us a comparison of her size in September of 2012. Here she has a longer bob down to her shoulders and it's curly. She has more meat on her bones as well.

Here we have two ladies from the 1930's sitting on a dock with a dog and what a charming example of the hair and fashions for older ladies of that era.

Two Ladies from 1920's

Bobs had become so popular during the previous decade of the 20's that women dashed to cut their hair short and rid themselves of the long and cumbersome floor length hair. One thing that I notice about this picture is the fact that these two look so happy, especially the one on the left. She has a great big smile. If you look at photographs from the early 1900's and prior of people, you notice that they rarely smiled. The 20's and 30's brought a sense of freedom for women and as a result the styles drastically changed.

Both of these women have curly bobs. One has left hers in a more natural fluffy state that is full of volume while the other has more defined curls with a side part. She has pulled the top flat and secured it so that ringlets dangle from the clip. One might think of Shirley Temple and her head of curls.

The 1930's were when shoulder pads were introduced for women's clothing. The ladies coat on the left boasts large examples of this fashion trend. Their shoes have heals and pointy toes. Let's just throw out what is comfortable and sensible and trade that for beauty.

This picture is so adorable and funny at the same time and shows a typical look for a young boy growing up in the 60's.

1960's Boy

He is complete with his Dennis the Menace haircut. The sides are cut short above the ears and the top is longer and combed forward into long choppy bangs that are completely disheveled. He looks like a little trouble maker with cowboy boots and his straight legged pants don't quite make enough room for those boots. One leg is pushed up for a charmingly childish look. Who has time to worry about how one looks when they are trolling for mischief? His jeans and sweatshirt are light colored and his dark belt isn't quite tucked into a loop.

This picture was taken in 1966 on the sidewalk. What could he be hiding behind his back?

And back then you would have watched a TV show like this on one of these retro televisions with rabbit ears.

Just standing on the porch posing for a picture, this gal's image comes straight from the mid 40's complete with curled hair and conservative dress.

1940's Woman

A deep side part was common and bangs are swept to the side and pinned with bobby pins. The top portion is smooth while the curls are kept toward the bottom. The length is just short of the shoulders.

Her dress is knee length and quite plain while belted at the waist. Her tie shoes look quite worn.

Looking at the details on the porch of this house, it looks like the porch light bulb is missing, and the mailbox is so tiny. They must not have received much mail 😉

This is a pretty awesome YouTube on 1940's how to hair that shows how to use pin curls to get your look. This is actually what the ladies did back in the day.
