This is a lovely and easy long hairstyle that would be perfect for prom or any special occasion.

Aimee Teegarden

She has parted her locks on the side and swept them all over to one side for an asymmetrical look. She has rich brown hair with the slightest hint of red that shows up when the light hits it. The top portion is rather smooth while the lower half is graced with big spiral curls. She is wearing a charcoal colored dress that hits above the knee. Her open toed light colored shoes do not match her clutch purse which is grey. A deliberate choice of colors for sure.

These sisters are all dressed up for Easter and wearing their Sunday best as they pose on the porch of their house.

1930's Girls

These little girls are wearing bob hairstyles. The oldest one has a middle part and each side is pulled up into a braid that turns her style into a partial updo. The back is left down and just short of shoulder length. The bottom is loosely curled. The middle sister has straight hair that is cut into a short bob. The top is pulled back and few bangs remain. They are cut short. She is wearing a bonnet. The littlest girl is wearing a fashion hat. She has a cute coat that has pleats and fabric covered buttons. The other two are wearing Easter dresses and Mary Janes. One has anklets and the one has knee socks.

Bonnet Girl

Here she is with jet black hair that is cut like a bowl around her head.

Agyness Deyn

This is really a very boyish look. There is no part and all strands are brushed forward and cut in a very choppy manner. The bangs are shaped in a arch around her face with graduated lengths down the sides. Her skin looks pale next to her hair color and her eyes are circled with dark pink eye shadow. Grunge is the word that comes to mind.

These two love birds must have been at a Christmas party because I spy a candy pin on her dress.

1940's couple

The young man has a Clark Gable-like haircut that was typical of that era with a side part and combed up and over bangs. The sides are short and hair products provide a slicked back wet look. He is wearing a tweed suit with white shirt and plaid necktie. Folks generally dressed up semi formal for parties and occasions.

The young lady has short hair that is pulled back on the sides. The top is curly all over and she most likely had naturally curly locks.

The year was 1948 which was a time when people could focus on family and take time to relax to have a little fun. The children of this WWII generation are known as the baby boomers.

What did typical men wear back then and what kind of haircuts did they have?

1950's Men

This is an actual photograph from the late 50's showing three generations of men sitting in the grass posing for the photo. Of course man's best friend has to accompany them for this shot, after all, he is part of the family. This is something that has not changed over the years: human's love of animals.

Grandpa is on the right and wearing a pin striped double breasted suit with a white shirt and tie. He has wire framed glasses and sunk in lips to suggest the probability of dentures. His hair has thinned a bit which he wears in a simple style of combed to the side. His fedora hat sits on his leg.

The father has very thinned hair and so the comb over is his style of choice. Those were the days when men did not celebrate baldness and therefor tried to hide it but in the process just called more attention to the matter. He is wearing a button up shirt with double breast pockets and it is buttoned to the top.

The son and youngest of the bunch is showing typical teen wear with a polo shirt and that has rolled up sleeves and his collar is buttoned to the top as well. His jeans are rolled up at the bottom to show his argyle socks with dress type shoes. His hair has long bangs that have a side swept movement over the forehead. A deep side part is distinct. All the strands are combed forward from the back of the crown. I am not quite sure how he kept his locks from falling over his face. This style carried over into the 60's as well.
