1950's Men's Haircut and Glasses

This is a very typical look for men during this post WWII era. This gentlemen is wearing a clean cut look and retro horned rimmed glasses in tortoise shell.

1950s Haircut

Males during this time period typically were clean shaven! That All American Boy image was popular and certainly dress up attire for a photograph was a must. The sides of this hairstyle are shaved close to the scalp and the top is a bit longer to allow a slicked back effect. A deep side part and a swooped up and back front are the focal points for this one. Pomade or vaseline were most likely used for styling. A pin stripe suit jacket, white shirt, and fairly narrow tie complete the fashionable look.

Early 1900's Hairstyle for Women

This is an actual vintage photo that is a great example of an early 1900's hairstyle.

This Victorian updo is full of poof around the crown and the front area is embellished with curls that cover over the forehead. Women of this time period still wore their locks long and pulled up into styles that looked short and kept the mane out of the way of chores and such. She is wearing a lacy white blouse with a black choker. Her face is quite plain as make-up was not common.

Back View of a Three Braid Hairstyle

This is a lovely way to wear an updo for a special event and it's a stunning and eye catching style.

Nina has a side part with the strands being pulled back and around to just behind one ear where the length is gathered up and secured. The bun is loose and the curls twist and turn into a pleasing shape. The color is a rich brown shade that is complimentary to her eye color.
