Here are some ideas for fun and festive costumes for festivals or parties or anytime adults want to play dress up or just be individual.

Funky Cat Costume

The above woman has blonde dreadlocks and colorful braided hair pieces. Her own locks show a choppy looking bang and some fringes at the sides of the face that have a tint of pink on the ends. The accessories that attach to her head are long and consist of colors such as black and fuchsia. On top of her head sits a headband that has cat ears and pink and black feathers. False eyelashes make a feminine statement and bright pink lipstick matches the scheme. Henna tattoos decorate her face and neck.

Here is a small sample of her artsy handiwork:

And the following photos are random shots of folks enjoying a street fair.

So the woman above is wearing a cat painted face mask and a beaded decorative skirt over her jeans that moves along with her as she dances to the music of a street band.

The man above is wearing a jester hat as he gets his groove on.

These ladies have fun and artistic hairstyles that incorporate streaks of colors! Pigtails that are twisted around into two messy buns make a fun 'do. A bandana is used as a headband!

A large butterfly tattoo can be seen on the back of a brightly dressed flapper type girl.

The man on stilts and a sea captain's hat hands out beads.

This edgy updo looks like a slicked back crop haircut from the front but when you look at the side view you can see how the long length is brought up and secured in the back.

Elizabeth Banks

This is a wet look accomplished with pomade and products and starting with unwashed hair is a plus. The top front is back combed to help produce height and then the top is smoothed over directed to the back in a swooping fashion. The sides are combed back. The picture below shows a side view to see how the back is done.

A french roll with a braid above it does a great job to hold things in place and provides interest. The event is the 2012 Los Angeles Film Festival – "People Like Us."

Cher is sporting a shoulder length bob with graduated layers while in concert at Q102 FM WIOQ's iHeartRadio Theatre in Bala Cynwyd on June 16th 2012.

Cher Lloyd

This is a great haircut for someone with fine, thin, and straight hair and who is looking for something modern, short, and easy care. A cowlick up front causes the strands to flip and swirl but one can use this as an asset as we can see here. Her color is a berry brunette with a hint of red that is barely noticeable and not streaky. She is sporting a side part and strands go up and over to keep an open forehead.

Justin is getting his grove on with the microphone in Concert on NBC's "Today Show" at Rockefeller Center in New York City on June 15, 2012.

This Canadian singer has spiked up his bangs here for a different and new look for him. The top of this one has height with wavy and soft looking tufts that are kept in place with hairspray. The sides are shaved close and combed downward. The sideburns are short and but prominent. His eyebrows are darker than his hair color which is medium brown with lighter highlights.

Looking at this actual photograph circa 1920s shows us that not much has changed in all these years with the dress and pose for that special day portrait.

1920s graduate woman

This is from the era when women were cutting their long tresses short into ear length bob haircuts. The Marcel wave was popular and all the rage. This gal has dark hair that she has styled around her graduation cap. This is one great example of "how to wear bangs" with this cumbersome yet all so important piece of clothing. The bangs are brushed to the side and partially tuck up and under but then a tuft barely peaks through as they swirl  back up under the brim. The sides are cut into graduated lengths that go from the eye down just past the ear. If you look closely you will see a little pin curl above one eyebrow. Her cap and gown are black with a big white collar.
