This is a typical hairstyle that one may have seen on a teenage girl in 1973. It is long and straight on top with long bangs that are at chin level and hair is parted in the middle. From about chin length down, hair is curled in loose curls that were most likely achieved with hot rollers. This picture was actually taken in 1973 and the style looks very similar to those seen today.

This hairstyle could be a good choice for fine and thin hair. The challenge with this hair type is to find a style that will look like there is more hair than there really is. A short hairstyle is usually a safe bet for someone who lacks fullness and volume naturally. This style is short hitting about at ear level and is straight with bangs brushed over to the side. A texturizing product can help to add some dimension and definition but be careful to use a tiny amount as too much of any product can make thin hair look thinner and greasy. A thickening spray can be very helpful as well.

This picture of Carrie Underwood was taken at the 57th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in September of 2005 and shows one of her hairstyles before the days of big hair. She looks absolutely lovely here just with a little less hair than we see her with these days. Her hair is medium length and curled into loose spirals that curl away from her face. The bangs are long and they are brushed to the side just to brush the outer corner of her sparkling eyes. Her hair is parted on the side with a touch of fullness in the lengths rather than on top.

Now, here she is with one of her big hairstyles. This photo was taken at the 2007 Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Awards Party in February of 2007. Her locks have grown into longer lengths and the texture looks much fuller. She has added just a touch of height at the back on the top and her style is a little similar to the one above with big loose spirals that start at about eye level, but the volume has really exploded. Carries seems to have added a few more blonde highlights as well. Ever since winning American Idol, Carrie has shown us so many amazing hairdos.

The question is, how did her hair grow so big? The answer may be: with hair extensions. Clip in hair extensions have become wildly popular and look amazingly natural. I have several friends who wear them and swear by them. I can never tell that they have them in. They even use them for updos. Other celebrities such as Jessica Simpson are said to use the extensions.

At any rate, Carrie always looks wonderful to go along with her beautiful voice when she sings those country songs we love to listen to.

This picture of Fergie ( Stacy Ann Ferguson ) was taken at ABC's Good Morning America Summer Concert Series on May 25th 2007. Her hair is long and straight and cut into a layered style with graduated ends. She has a middle part without bangs which has a seventies feel and then the top back portion is lifted up and combed toward the back of her head which has a tendency to look somewhat sixtyish. Her hair looks shiny and healthy and hip for this American pop singer who is a solo artist as well as vocalist for The Black Eyed Peas.

It would be easy to copy her look. Start with a good layered cut and use a paddle brush to dry using a downward motion. Heat up your trusty flat iron and use it on small sections of dry hair starting at the roots and ending at the ends. Always use a continuous motion when using your flat iron and practice on dry hair if you are not a seasoned user. Tourmaline is a stone that gives off ions that help create the shiny healthy look that is so sought after and is used on many good quality hair straighteners.

Here we have a beautiful bride with her long hair worn down in loose spirals. When an updo just does not seem to fit the bill when choosing a bridal hairstyle, then, consider wearing hair in it's natural state with a little dressing up to fit the occasion: your big day.

This bride has pulled her bangs back and attached her veil. Her hair is pulled off of her face to bring attention to her features. She is wearing a lovely drop down necklace. Her hair color is light brown with honey highlights.

This lovely young lady is sharing a special moment with the father of the bride.
