If you like to live on the wilder side of hair and are interested in what's trendy and current , then you need to check out this emo hairstyle for men. If you have a fine texture to your strands, this one should work well.

This young man told me that he cuts his own hair and bleaches it himself. One of the trademarks of an emo haircut is that one can do it themselves. Since the goal is to not look like everyone else, not being perfectly straight or uniform is best.

A trend we are currently seeing with hairstyles for men and women is the fact that the bangs are being combed forward from the part or the back of the head. The 60's unfluence is strong with this look.

Now, here is a picture of the side so you can see how different the front is from the back. His locks are stick straight over the forehead and sides and this can be accomplished with the use of a flat iron.

The back half is cut shorter and hair gel is used to spike the hair out in varying directions. This is very original. This guy did a great job.

If you are wondering about the up and coming hairstyles for men for 2008, then take a look at this picture of a model taken at the Lisbon Fashion Week Move Summer 08 in Portugal. We certainly see a heavy 60's influence here with the haircut as well as the clothes.

This model's hair is cut short above the ears on the sides and in the back but the bangs are heavy and they go from shorter on one side to longer as they brush to the side.  He has a side part and the strands are combed forward and down over the face and they just skiff the eye. This style might remind one of the "Monkeys" which was popular band and TV show in the 1960's.

As for the clothes on this guy, the shorts are skimpy and tight. Now this IS retro for sure.

Men in the 1940's usually wore their hair on the long side and all slicked back. This look was considered to be Hollywood glamorous for men. Bangs were actually grown out long to allow them to be able to style them appropriately for this hairstyle. Men back then visited the barber for their haircut needs and no doubt paid very little compared to what we pay today at the salon. This look is making a comeback for formal attire as seen with Brad Pitt on this post.

Here we can see a typical 1980's very big bi-level hairstyle. Women of this decade usually chose to have their hair wrapped around perm rods to add body and to be able to achieve those ridiculously puffy styles. It is said that the prosperity that most people were experiencing then was the inspiration for the over-the-top hairdos.

This woman is sporting bangs and curls with her medium length and the sides are cut short as to expose the ears. The major height at the top is very trendy for current hairstyles and weather you go for the 80's influence or the 60's bouffant, you will fit right in.

The sweater she is wearing is an example of what most were wearing back then. These would hit at about the natural waist and sported designs like hearts and snowflakes and would cover the garment as shown above.

The early 70's was a time of transition for hairstyles. Bouffants were giving way to long straight hair with no style as the 60's came to a close. Some women were still wearing their hair short and puffy as the idea of flat hair did not appeal to them. Here we see a picture of a woman with very tall hair. She has lots of height and poof with this short style. Hair is curled to add body.
