Here is a cute hairstyle for medium to long length hair. It features a no bang look with hair at the front being cut at about cheek level. The part is off center and these locks are styled straight down to chin level and then the curls begin. This is a popular look still into 2008. The curly ends are soft and random looking. A thin flat iron with rounded ends can be used to create these loose curls.

Funky is the word that comes to mind to describe this unusual and inventive updo that uses hairpieces that resemble buns to add interest to the back of this hairdo. The model has pulled her own hair back into a knot and then added two other pieces that have rolled curls in the shape of a bun. A headpiece is added near the front and has netting and feather-like material. This would be a great look for a costume party or any time one would want to stand out in the crowd.

An interesting twist on a Valentines hairstyle consists of a looped twisted ponytail at the base of the neck with a little red heart positioned in the loop. One could try other variations of this inventive style that would be fun to do on everybody's favorite lover's day.

This is a beautiful updo for a bride, for prom, or any formal event. It's got a bit of a messy edge with a not so perfect look. The back is pinned up in such a way as to create a spiral curl mane in the back. The front has strands of hair pulled out to hang at each side of face in loose soft curls.

The 50's were a time of simplicity and Happy Days.

1950's Crew

Hairstyles reflected that theme as we see in this photo taken around 1957. Women wore their hair short and in easy care styles such as these which have some simple curls. Since blow-dryers were not used much at home, it was common to see women out shopping with curlers and hair nets during the day so they could look lovely at night. It was also popular to use pin curls which was nothing more than winding strands around the finger and securing them with bobby pins until hair dried. Many men chose the flat top crew cut for the then bad boy look. Black horn rimmed glasses topped off the look for men. Also khaki pants and white tee shirts and rolled up sleeves were the thing.

This is such a charming photograph of brothers and sisters and in laws. Everyone is gathered on the couch and around the coffee table for the picture and the photographer is going a swell job getting the crew to laugh. Magazines and new papers are spread across the table and on the back of the couch.
