What a great example of a modern Marcel wave. This retro hairstyle was ever so popular back in the 1920's when women opted to cut their hair as part of the women's movement. The short bob was the style of choice and these soft waves gave the ladies a feminine edge. This is a very pretty 'do with bangs arranged in an "S" shape up and around the perimeter of the forehead.

Check out this picture that was taken back in the 20's as it will show the similarities in these styles.

Loose curls are very popular this season and here is an example of a blonde medium length style to fit the bill. This young business woman is sporting a messy shoulder length hairdo that looks casual and carefree. The bangs are brushed forward and to one side with a ringlet type curl at the edge. The rest of the strands are allowed to twist and bend in a random fashion.

If you are looking to wear your hair down in a straight fashion for Prom, you should check out this cute style. The length is about three inches past the shoulders and this is a layered hairstyle. The long bangs are pushed to the side while the posterior portion is parted toward the middle. The color is different shades of blonde which adds depth. To get this great style, try using a large round brush with the air from the blow-dryer directed in a downward motion. When the locks are completely dry, a flat iron can be used to touch up and close the cuticle to get that extra shine and smooth appearance.

Here is a cute hairstyle for a pre-teen or "tween" who has straight hair and would like a style for medium length locks. This beautiful Native American young lady has cowlick up front that fits into this hairdo as if it belongs there. A side part and bangless look is perfect here. The lengths are graduated around the bottom and to create a frame around the face very nicely.

What a great picture of a vintage 1950's bride complete with glamor make-up, princess-like crown and veil, and suit-like wedding dress.

The bridal bouquet is beautiful with big Lily's. Women of this time period wore dark red lipstick and dark pencil for eyebrows. The hair is pulled back in a bang-less updo to showcase her lovely face and the beaded and intricately patterned crown adds to the fancy occasion. What a great photo to show what our mothers, grandmothers, and great grandmothers looked on their big day.
