Hippies were well known in the 60s and 70s. They were usually those in the younger generation (teens and 20 something year olds) who wanted to set themselves apart from the conservative folks. They did this by growing their hair long and often in a no-style fashion. Usually hair was parted in the middle and bang-less. During this time period, long side burns were the thing for men. Headbands were popular and served to keep the sweat out of the eyes, but actually they were merely a fashion statement. Aviator sunglasses along with tie-dye including bright colors finish off the look.

Rascal Flatts has some great men's hairstyles for those who like to look hot and trendy and rocker-like. These three guys are all sporting a little different look. They all have short hair with their own spin on modern country music fashion flair.

Gary LeVox is the lead singer and is seen on the right. He is known for his flat top and very long crew cut with tall spikes.  His dishwater blonde locks are highlighted with lighter chunks of color on top.

Joe Don Rooney is on the left and known to women all over as the "hot guy" of the trio. He is the lead guitarist and harmony vocalist. He traditionally wears long bangs combed forward from the back of the head with chunky highlights. His retro 60s flashback haircut is completely up to date with that random messy business.

The dude in the middle is Jay DeMarcus and is Gary's second cousin and bassist as well as song writer. His dark 'do is full of spikes that go every which way.

If you are looking for a long easy care hairstyle, check this one out. It sports the popular wavy look that would be easy to copy. This teen girl has light brown hair with chunky blonde highlights and it is parted on the side with no bangs. Using a diffuser on the blow-dryer and fingers to lightly scruch while drying will help to get these loose waves. Brush hair from underneath while styling to help keep the separation.

Here's an example of a school picture from the 1950's. This teen girl has a short curly hairstyle that is certainly conservative by today's standards. These were the days of Beaver Cleaver when women stayed home and raised children. Teenagers wore very little if any make-up and kicked around in saddle shoes.

If you are having trouble finding a cute toddler girl hairstyle, you have to see this one. This little lady is a sweet as a lolly pop with this darling partial updo. She has baby fine straight blonde hair that is short but the top portion is pulled back into a tiny ponytail that sticks straight up. Using covered bands is better than rubber ones that can pull on the strands and damage them.
