A blonde young lady in a pink strapless prom dress, a great combination. She is fair skinned which contrasts the bright colored gown. Her hair is pulled up in an a messy looking updo which gives the appearance of spunk and fun. Having the locks up off of the shoulders shows off the dress's sexiest feature. The long bangs are brushed to one side and left out to dangle.

This bride is wearing a pretty updo without a veil and a strapless white wedding gown. This would be a lovely look for an afternoon or outdoor event. Sections of hair are randomly twisted, turned, and anchored to the scalp with attractive clips or bobby pins. Some pieces are left to stick out at the crown to add some height. Her long bangs are parted to the side and straightened with a flat iron. Some wax can be added to get that defined affect.

Elegant updos seem to be the preferred prom hairstyle for most young women. Here is an example of one that is quite different and unusual. This gal has fairly long fine blonde hair that is styled into a ponytail that starts from the forehead, has sections wound around itself, and is secured down the top of the head to the back to resemble a mane. The sides are slicked back for a touch of glamour.

This picture shows a 1920's woman with a rather modern and edgy updo from that era.

1920s Updo

This hairdo was accomplished with short curly hair. The sides are left down and hair is brushed upward toward the center top where bobby pins are used to secure the mass. The way that the hair is pulled up creates a look of full bangs on the forehead. The tresses on the sides are curled around forward just in front of the ears.
