Retro Bob

Looking for a great way to turn a bob hairstyle into a retro hairdo? Here is a cute look using a headband. This is a very short version of this time-less and popular "do." Hair is cut at chin length and bangs are cut straight across just hitting the eyebrow and then graduating slightly at the sides. This is a great style for a narrow face bringing width to it. The strands on the top are back combed with the top layer smoothed over to get the look of a bouffant and then a wide headband is placed. What a great way to turn a simple bob into a retro 60's look.

The Original Shag

The shag hairstyle began in the late 60's and was strong into the early 70's. This photograph was taken around 1970 and shows the hair and fashion that was hot during this time with men and women. This young woman's hairstyle has the typical hourglass shape that came from the transformation of the bouffant which was full and round on top. Then, the fringes of longer pieces that came down the neck and flipped up, just like the Florence Henderson hairdo from the Brady Bunch, made the shag just that.

Jenny McCarthy with Inverted Bob

 What a sleek and sexy bob hairstyle we see here on Jenny McCarthy. This picture of her was taken at the 5th Anniversary of the Gentlemen's Club on 12/13/2007. This style is sure to be hot for 2008 and is easy care and fun. This haircut is cut shorter in the back (inverted) which helps to give fullness around the crown. Her bangs are brushed to the side here to give the appearance of a bang-less style, but one could also style it with the bangs for a variation. There are some graduated layers around the bottom to also add some bounce. This is a very straight hairstyle with the sides at the front just brushing past the jawline. Cute Super Short Crop

Super short cropped hairstyles can be sexy and are easy to care for. This style is straight and sleek looking with a little bit of layering to help the hair lay down properly. With a good cut, this hairdo should just fall into place when styled. A little texturing product on the hands and run through the strands after drying is complete, will give some definition and help to keep things in place. Her bangs are brushed to the side here but could be left down and so on for other variations. This is a very cute look.

Ashlee Simpson looks spunky and glamorous with this curly bob hairstyle. This is a cute short hairdo for her that is softly feminine with big loose curls that start at eye level and finish at the chin.
