This young woman has curly hair but has styled it into a straightened 60s hairdo with the use of hair products and a flat iron. First she uses a straightening balm and then uses a large round brush when blow-drying. She runs over the strands with a flat iron one small section at at time. The top crown of her head is back combed to add some height and then the outer layer is smoothed over for a clean look. Some hair spray is added at the end. A wide polka-doted headband is placed for a fabulous retro statement. This hair accessory has an elasticized bottom to allow it to stay in place better.

This picture of her was taken at the Pepe Jeans Party in London last October 2006. Even though she is sporting her last fall's style, this look is still very popular. Her pretty blonde hair is worn very straight with a slightly off center part and about 1-1/2 inches of hair is taken from the front and tucked behind the ears. Back-combing under the pony will help create the height that is needed for this retro look.
