This woman is also sporting some great fashion ideas from this time like a cropped blouse and straight legged pants that hit above the ankle.

Natalie Portman looks cute here at the 65th Annual Film Festival with her long wavy hairdo and stylish casual tee shirt / tunic. Her top has butterfly sleeves and a scoop neck with a cool screen print. She is wearing jeans dark sunglasses. Her hairstyle would be easy to re-create with a spiral perm that starts at about ear level and the top is left straight. Allowing the strands to air dry would be great to preserve the hair health or one could use a diffuser and finger scrunch. If one had naturally curly locks, blow drying near the roots would help get the look.
Cowlicks can be the detriment of a hairstyle for a woman, especially if they turn up at the front of the hairline. Cowlicks are formed when tufts of hair emerge from the follicles at different angles from the rest of the mane. The cause is unknown but probably hereditary.

You may just be looking for a new short cut for a fresh new start after a big break-up. This is an easy care style and totally up to date. A similar do was extremely popular back in the late 80s and early 90s and you can see in this example. Back then the curls were tighter and kinkier and they were accomplished with a spiral perm. They were also much more poofy. Today's in style look is more relaxed and looser. A little curl enhancing product along with a diffuser and finger scrunching will help to get this sassy bob. Winding a few sections of dry strands around a small barrel curling iron will help to seal the deal.
