Here is a picture of a typical 80's bi-level hairstyle with big bright yellow wicker earrings to set the retro mood. Hair was cut short on the sides and left longer in the back. Bigger was better so puffy curls were in order. Heavy hold hair gels were used as well as very firm hairspray. Primary colors were popular then and they had to be bold. If you are a guy with fine hair and would like to be able to sport the ever so popular fohawk, then you will probably need to cut your hair very short on the sides and fairly short on top. This picture here shows a great men's fohawk for thin hair. The front top strands are a little longer than the rest so they can come to a point out over the forehead. It is gradually shorter toward the back. Who says guys with thin hair can't be trendy and up to date.
