Great 70's Hairstyles with Authentic Pictures
Here we have an actual photo from 1976 which shows the typical hair and clothes from that time. This shows the style for men and women way back then. It is interesting how we can see some definite influences in today's fashion and hairstyles.
The woman farthest to the left looks like she is wearing "pulse jeans" which were all the rage back in the day. They typically had little flap pockets at the top in the front and seams done the front of the leg as well. Her tee shirt was very popular with the Lacey neckline. Her "Dorothy Hamill wedge cut" has an asymmetrical twist to it as this young lady chose to be different by cutting one side shorter than the other. She has a full thick bang wither very short and full sides.
The teenage man standing next to her is sporting the scruffy hippie look with long parted in the middle hair that is left to do its natural wavy thing. The goatee adds to the bad boy theme. The length is just past the shoulder. (We see many young men today adopting this hairdo for themselves.) He is wearing bell bottom tan colored cords and you've got to love those aviator tinted glasses.
The woman with the blonde locks unfortunately got a bad feathered cut. It is too choppy and thin looking on the sides. There were a lot of those in the 70's. To see a good feathered hairstyle check out that link.
The gal on the far right was not really hip for that time except that smock top with the stripes, that was very vogue.
Nice 70's outfit shown here on this guy.
