Brad Pitt has grown out his military cut and is sporting an updated version of that with wavy spikes on top and short sides.
The event here is "Big Men" special Los Angeles screening on March 26th 2014. He is an executive producer of this film which tells the story of a group of American explorers at a Dallas based oil company.

The sides are shaved super close to the scalp with the top longer and slicked back. There is some height but not quite as much as a pompadour. He's got that boyish grin that he is so famous for. His tux is black with a white shirt and bow tie.

This is Brad Pitt prior to cutting off his very long and scruffy locks pictured with wife Angelina.
His hair is parted in the middle and hangs straight down with no style really, just disheveled and messy. His dark roots show at the top while the bottom half still has bits and pieces of highlighted color. I guess you could call this the beachey wave thing and might be something a surfer would wear, but hey it's a style choice for many even if you don't surf the waves. A little Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray might be helpful to the non surfer looking to sport a style like this. After all, not everyone lives close to the beach and salt water to get the real effect.

Brad Pitt is sporting a new look that is somewhat reminiscent of the 1930's with this vintage hairstyle.
The sides are shaved close to the scalp. The top is left longer which is finger styled and slicked back. This is a sharp and classy clean cut look. He has had so many different styles over the years from long to short and this one is super short for him.
