If you are looking for an example of a feathered hairstyle, take a look at this one. Brooke Burns has medium to long blonde hair that is parted off center with the bangs brushed to side which is typical of this retro hairdo. The sides are curled back to make the strands resemble feathers. This is done with the proper haircut and then blow-dried with a round brush while pulling hair toward the back. A curling iron can be used to touch up.

This retro hairstyle is very becoming on Amanda Bynes. Just in case you are not familiar with this young actress, she is a former host on Nickelodeon and has also starred in some films such as "Hairspray." Today we are taking a look at her long multi shades of blonde slightly wavy hair. Her part is in the middle with a no bang style and it is straight all the way down to her shoulders where it transitions into very loose and chunky looking waves.

Natural beauty Sienna Miller is one to watch for the latest in hairstyles and fashion. She changes her look often and always seems to be one step ahead. This picture of her was taken at the Pepe Jeans Party in London last October 2006. Even though she is sporting her last fall's style, this look is still very popular. Her pretty blonde hair is worn very straight with a slightly off center part and about 1-1/2 inches of hair is taken from the front and tucked behind the ears. The rest of the strands are free flowing to hang down naturally. This hairstyle is straight from the 70's.

High school dance pictures from the 70s are pretty funny and these are no different. This top one shows a gunny sax skirt that was typical for this era and both boy and girl are wearing chunky heeled shoes. He has a black leather jacket and flaired pants. The hairstyles of this time were feathered for both sexes.

This hairstyle by Mandy Moore could have stepped right out of 1970 something. The feathered back effect that was popularized by Farrah Fawcett during the 70s is showing up on many celebrities. The center part with bangs brushed to the sides at about eye level is part of the package. What a great retro hairdo for medium to long hair.
