Katharine McPhee has great long locks that look terrific in this loose wavy hairstyle. She has an off center part and is bang-less with her sides sweeping back as if they were wind blown. The top of her style is smooth and straight while the second half has feminine flair with pieces that twist and turn in random direction. Here is a cute hairstyle for a pre-teen or "tween" who has straight hair and would like a style for medium length locks. This beautiful Native American young lady has cowlick up front that fits into this hairdo as if it belongs there. A side part and bangless look is perfect here. The lengths are graduated around the bottom and to create a frame around the face very nicely.

Early 60's Hair and Fashion

This picture shows three generations of women and was taken back in the early 60's. The young lady in the middle is a teenager here and we see the bouffant hair which was just beginning to make an entrance during this time. The woman on the right is the mom and she is still sporting a more conservative 50's hairstyle that is styled more closely to the head and not as full as the younger generation was wearing at the time. The woman on the left is of course the grandmother and she looks like she is wearing something in between the two hairdos. The ladies are wearing peddle pushers which would be similar to today's capri pants only fitting close to the leg. Patterned fabrics were popular back then as well as 3/4 length sleeves and boat necks.
