Lots of strong hold hair gel and spray would help to hold the shape of these large rolls that decorate the top portion of this blonde partial updo. What a cute new look for fall that Brooke Burns is sporting in this picture of her with fashion hat and long loose curls. Her color scheme is black and silver pinstripes with this vintage men's apparel inspired style. Her hair color changes rather frequently from blonde to brown and here she has gone to the latter. Her bright blue eyes are a great contrast to all these dark shades. Look who is sporting a similar hat.

Bride Wearing Tiara

A lovely bride wearing a dainty tiara looks like a princess on her big day. This young lady is wearing her hair up in an interesting updo that has twists at the top that are comprised of sections that wind around in little rolls. The bangs are side-swept and come down over the forehead. The head piece is placed to come down over the forehead. This is a different look and out of the ordinary and has a vintage flair. This would be beautiful on a tall thin bride as well as a petite small gal.

1940s Rolled Hairstyle (Victory Rolls)

Women of the 1940's often wore their hair rolled (victory rolls) in one manner or another as we can see here in this photo taken in about 1946. This post WWII era was a time when hairstyles were really beginning to follow the trends of Hollywood stars. These were the days prior to modern amenities such as blow-dryers and curling irons, so it was necessary to be resourceful. Washing of the hair usually happened at night and then sections were wound around rollers and slept on overnight, or strands were coiled around the finger to form pin curls and secured with bobby pins. This is how women of that time acquired body and bounce and a foundation to create these now vintage hairdos. In the morning, styling began with removal of all apparatus. Then the locks were brushed and coaxed into place. This young gal has a side part and the bangs are rolled back and around and pinned. The side is pulled back and anchored behind the ear with the back left down to touch the collar.
