Mom and dad look like typical parents but check out the teenagers. The girl has long hair that is parted in the middle and is wavy toward the bottom. Her glasses are narrow and wide with dark frames and she is wearing swabbies (sailor pants). These pants wear all the rage back then in blue or white and had buttons all the way up the front. They had patch style pockets on the front and back and flair legs. The boys had long bangs that were brushed forward and sometimes to the side. Take a look at the woman at the top of the stairs with her red pants and psychedelic tunic top. Woman's hand bags were an after thought, as they were not much of a priority then as far a fashion statement.

Teenagers in the 1950s generally dressed in simple styles and had easy care hairstyles like this one here in this picture of a young girl with a pixie cut. She has short bangs and the sides are cut just about mid ear. The locks are straight which adds to the simplicity. She is wearing a white dress that has a fitted bodice and full skirt that hits just above the ankle.

Here's an example of a school picture from the 1950's. This teen girl has a short curly hairstyle that is certainly conservative by today's standards. These were the days of Beaver Cleaver when women stayed home and raised children. Teenagers wore very little if any make-up and kicked around in saddle shoes.

Young teen boys like to wear their hair a little longer these days and this one here is no different. A full bang and sides cut about mid ear with the back coming down the neck makes this style fit right in with today's look for teenagers. His wavy hair is left to do its natural thing which is quite easy in deed. This hairstyle gets its roots from days gone by as we see here in this photo below of a teenage boy from the late 70s.
