If you like edgy hairstyles and especially short ones, then you must take a look at this almost shag hairstyle by Jes Rickleff here in this photo of her taken at Gen Art's 6th Annual Fresh Faces in Fashion Presented by Blackberry and T-Mobile Hosted by Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. This layered style has fullness around the crown which is typical of the shag but has some funky twists that make is very fun. The bangs are cut shorter above one eye and in this area there are some purple highlights. The bottom layeres are flat iron straight and are different lengths.

The shag hairstyle has been around since the 1970s. It is a timeless cut and is always in fashion. Small changes can be made to it to give it an update and keep it lively: a little shorter here or a little longer there or more or less curly. Lisa Rinna has the greatest shag hairstyle which is nothing more than a layered short 'do with fullness around the top, but here she has styled it rather straight into a sedu. We still see some random pieces flipping up here and there. Usually she wears her tresses in a more styled version but this less fussy version is really cute too. To get her look, just blow dry with a round brush and touch up with a flat iron if need be. This is a very easy care day for Lisa. And…her sunglasses are rather hip as well.

Here's an example of a cute cropped cut that would be simple and easy care as well as up to date. It is somewhat similar to a retro shag which has many variations. This one is layered and full on top with longer pieces that come down the neck. The bangs are very textured with a razor-like edge and they are brushed to the side. There is no part and so therefor a bit tousled. This is a style to show off those long dangle earrings that are so in these days.
