Jessica Simpson has that enviable main that always looks good and here she's doing a bit of a retro look with feathered hair. Her off center part continues to the forehead for a bang-less appeal with the sides being curled back in a sort of Farrah Fawcett style. Jessica is singing on ABC's Fall Concert Series on Sept. 9 2008 in Times Square.

Miley Cirus is all about retro country style here in this picture of her taken during a performance on ABC's Good Morning America Friday July 18th 2008. Her feathered hairstyle might remind one of Farrah Fawcett's popular 70s 'do back in the day. She has a side part with hair that is styled smooth down to about ear level where the strands transition into a curled back fashion. Her long locks cascade over her shoulders and intermingle with the ruffles on the front of her checkered cowgirl shirt. She is wearing jean shorts and funky scrunch boots which some of us remember from the 80s. She is all smiles with microphone in hand.

This picture is from about 1973 and shows a pre-teen 12 year old girl in her 6th grade school photo. During this time period, which was early 70s, the hairstyle trend was that of no style basically. This look would work much better on someone with thicker hair rather than one with thin fine hair as above. A middle part with no bangs was very popular and taking a section on each side and tucking that behind the ears to allow the rest to fall right along side the face was right in style. We had no flat irons back then so the strands were just left to be a bit messy. Teenage girls did not wear much make up back then especially those in grade school or junior high (middle school). Right around the mid to late 70s, feathered hair became popular and this trend was popularized by Farrah Fawcett of Charlies Angels.

Hair is parted near the middle and is curled back started at about eye level. Winding sections around a medium barrel curling iron held vertically and wrapping toward the back help to achieve this style.
