Wow, what a sight this is! Nice bi-level hair for the men. Cut shorter on the sides and longer in the back. The young girl has a poodle doo. The lady on the left has classic retro blue eye shadow. Skinny legged jeans were in with tennis shoes. You have got to love that multi colored carpet in shades of brown that looks like someone spilled chocolate all over it. Nice for covering up stains. Imagine watching TV on that set?

We are not sure which decade this 'do most closely resembles, but its a cross between the 1940s and 1960s, or maybe 1980s even, with short sides above the ears and longer back with slight curls. The deep side part makes the top look a touch like a comb over with a Gerber baby curl on the opposite side. Hmmmm very interesting.

Here is an example of a big ratted 80s hairstyle and flash dance style tee shirt that is off the shoulder on one side. Banana clips were popular back then and gave the look of a horses mane but this looks like a ponytail that is placed over to one side and then the strands are back combed into a rats nest and then heavily coated with strong hold hair spray. The colors in her outfit include bold and bright contrasting hues. The sunglasses are an aviator style and yellow rims perk things up. Colored rims were very hot back in the 1980s.

The punk rocker look was wildly popular in the 1980s and is still around today. This woman is wearing a Rod-Stewart-like hairdo with tall and stiff spikes that adorn the top of the head while some strands hang straight down. Her long pieces are braided. The black hair matches her black and red bold get up. Fish net stockings cover her legs and crazy patterns are seen everywhere. There are stripes and checks and lace. This retro era was known for its random choices in design and color and bold was big.

As the 80's passed to the end of that decade and turned toward the 90's, the big hair was still alive but it changed just a little bit. The classic 1980s puffy top 'do was about to be put to rest, but the fluff was not yet dead. The gradual transition from top heavy to bottom heavy was taking shape. This picture of a bunch of girlfriends from that era (pic was taken around 1989) shows a variety of hairstyles, but they have one thing in common: curly locks. It looks like there are a couple of examples of mall bangs here like the gal on the upper left and right. A popular early 90's look was the spiral perm bob as seen on the woman in the front row and right of center.

Here is a great example of a 1980s wedding showing the hair and fashion of that time. The bride is in white, the bridesmaids are in a light purple, the flower girl is in a lavender, and the groomsmen are all in light gray tuxes. This was early in the decade and bi-level hairstyles were popular for both men and women. Poodle perms were also all the rage. If you had naturally curly hair, you were in luck, otherwise, you had to make a trip to the salon for a perm.
