This one by Amanda Seyfried is reminiscent of the 1920's finger waves with long lovely tresses that are ultra glam and feminine.

You can get a look like this one using with a  1 – 1/2" curling iron held vertically and working in sections, wind the strands around the barrel leaving the ends free. Spray first with hairspray and then curl. Gently brush out with a vent brush and fingers. This is a soft and beautiful style perfect for any occasion whether formal or casual.

Cameron and her side swept bob pose for a shot at the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" Los Angeles Premier!

Cameron Diaz

This is a short and straight hairstyle but the bottom edge has a razor cut appearance and a fringy effect. Her long bangs are brushed to the side from a deep set part. Her hair color medium brown with several shades of highlights for a chunky appeal including bleach blonde. A vent brush and hairdryer can help with the styling of this one while lifting from the scalp and brushing through. The ends can be scrunched with the fingers while still wet to add a bit of a bend to the strands.

This is Eva Green's version of a bouffant updo. Her bangs are pulled straight back and worked into the bouffant which has some decent height on top.

Eva Green

The sides are pulled back and kept close to the scalp. She has medium/dark brown hair and a fair complexion. Her eyes are blue grey and match her high neck dress. This shot was taken at "Dark Shadows" Los Angeles Premiere. Eva plays Angelique Bouchard who placed a curse on Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) which turned him into a vampire in the 18th century. The original soap opera, which the movie is based on, aired from 1966 to 1971 so this retro 60's beehive hairstyle is perfect for the occasion.

Here is an example of a woman with a short crop and this picture shows the process of working in sections to straighten.

Flat Iron Styling

This is a side view which shows how the back is cut into a stacked shape where the inside layers are longer and they gradually get shorter working toward the outer layer. This creates sleek lines that accentuate the neck and shapely feminine curves. When a super straight look is desired, sectioning off the strands helps to work with small pieces making it easier to get the results.
