Back in the late 80's, we tried to make our hair look as big as possible even if we had a fine or thin mane. Here in this photo taken back in the day, we can see a true retro experience with mouse, curling iron, and lots of hairspray. Lots of layering around the top of this wavy bob with bangs allows there to be lift on top gaining that big hair look. Volume producing hair products are worked into the roots prior to blow-drying then lifting with a vent brush while concentrating the air there will help to get this flash back look.

If you are old enough to remember watching MTV back then and seeing Aerosmith with their popular videos such as "Dude Looks Like a Lady," then you know that this man has not changed much in the past 20 years. He still wears his locks in big hair fashion. His latest trend seems to be adding feathers of different colors as ornaments to dangle amongst the bed head strands. Here is an example of a big ratted 80s hairstyle and flash dance style tee shirt that is off the shoulder on one side. Banana clips were popular back then and gave the look of a horses mane but this looks like a ponytail that is placed over to one side and then the strands are back combed into a rats nest and then heavily coated with strong hold hair spray. The colors in her outfit include bold and bright contrasting hues. The sunglasses are an aviator style and yellow rims perk things up. Colored rims were very hot back in the 1980s.
