50's Style for Men

img047sm.jpg

Here is some 50's style with a photograph taken in 1957 that shows what was in at the time for men. Although teenagers may have been sporting ducktails, this gentleman has a typical crew-cut that is flat on top, otherwise known as a flat-top. The barber no doubt buzzed this haircut.

Short sleeve button-up shirts were big and especially plaids. A white tee-shirt was worn underneath that showed up as the shirt was unbuttoned a few down. Blue jeans in dark colors with the bottoms of lthe egs rolled up was a hit. Eyeglasses were big and thick framed (horn-rimmed) and also black. This was big change from previous decades when thin frames were popular.
