The pompadour has been a popular hairstyle with many celebrities and was quite popular with men in the 1950's. It has made a come back and is getting attention from women as well. Here are some awesome examples with pictures for you to take a look at.
Bruno Mars sported his modern version of this classic 'do at Super Bowl 2014. He has thick and coarse hair that makes it easy for him to get the lift needed. The sides are cut short and top is longer. This is like a very tall crew cut or flat top although his version has ends that curl and they have some definition with the use of tons of hair gel.
Alicia Keys has feminine version with sides slicked back and the top is tall with lift and height and defined curls. She is sporting this rockabilly look at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
This one is more disheveled and not a formed at the others. This is Sasha Knezevic at DKNY Eau de Toilette for Women Launch at Sephora in New York City on April 22, 2011. He has medium a brown color with auburn/red highlights. The sides are brushed toward the back and the bangs are long and rolled up and back to create height.
This is Amber Heard at The Art of Elysium 6th Annual "Heaven" Gala Black Tie Charity Gala. Her sleek 50's style is created with a smooth updo and plenty of back combing to give lift with the top layer being smoothed over.
Fergie has a very tall pompadour with a long ponytail that trails over her shoulder across her front.
This last one is a beautiful bride with an ornate version of this retro style. Her updo is full of twists and turns and sections that provide much interest. The top section is twisted into a large pin curl on top.
And lets not forget Brad Pitt with his version of the pompadour. His is very much like the 1930's military cut for men.
